In this episode of The Canadian Experience Jeff Simpson and Bret Amundsen head to Tazin Lake in Northern Saskatchewan to target giant lake trout and northern pike.

Trophy Lake Trout at Tazin Lake

Located in the northern reaches of Saskatchewan, Tazin Lake is known for raising world-class lake trout and northern pike.

It is a deep, clear water lake that sits in the northwest corner of Saskatchewan.

This lake reaches depths over 400 feet, has lots of rocky shorelines, a huge forage base and receives very little fishing pressure.

It is full of trophy lake trout and giant northern pike.

Northern pike exceeding forty inches are common and lake trout topping the scales at over forty pounds are caught each summer.

Tazin Lake Lodge is located on an island in the heart of the lake. Guests can expect delicious food, comfortable beds, hot showers, flush toilets and 24-hour electricity in their cabins.

The lake has never seen a commercial fishing net, allowing the Lodge to properly manage the lake with a catch and release policy. This ensures the giants will be around for generations to come.

The lodge provides fishing guides that spend their day making sure you’re in the right position to catch fish.

Fishing is with one guide per two guests in each boat. Each guide is very knowledgable and knows where the big fish areas.

While the fishing is great, it’s not the only part of a trip to Tazin Lake Lodge. The lake and lodge are surrounded by beautiful scenery.

Owners Trevor Montgomery and Barry Prall also do a fantastic job providing you with the best experience and hospitality.

If your are looking for the opportunity at a fish of a lifetime you need to check out Tazin Lake.
